Pokes Wearing Cursive Cowboys, Mike Boynton Previews Wichita State Game

Oklahoma State will bust out the cursive Cowboys uniforms this weekend against No. 6 Wichita State in GIA. I’m curious to see if they go full 2000 throwback or just mesh it in with the current uniforms like they did last year (see photo above).

We got this tease from the men’s basketball Twitter account on Thursday so I’m pretty fired up to see the unveiling.

Head coach Mike Boynton previewed the Shockers on Thursday, too.

“They can play a lot of different ways,” said Boynton. “They’ve proven they can play really high-scoring games and win. They can play a grind it out game. They can come from behind. They can play with a lead.

“That’s due to experience. Those guys don’t get rattled no matter what the situation is or the score. They feel like as long as there’s time left, they can win. You add that to the fact that we went up there last year, there will be a little revenge on their minds I’m sure. But unless we allow it to, last year’s game won’t have any bearing on this year’s game. We’ve got to come out and prepare knowing it’s going to be a battle on the boards. It’s going to be a physical game, I’m sure.”

Wichita State is currently No. 6 in KenPom while Oklahoma State is No. 50. The Shockers’ statistical profile is, uh, impressive (see below). They have wins over Baylor, Marquette and Cal. The game tips at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.
