Report: Cameron Rising A Game-Time Decision for Matchup with Oklahoma State
Rising’s status is still TBD.
The game of will he play or won’t he play for quarterback Cameron Rising continues into gameday.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Saturday morning reported that Rising, Utah’s quarterback, will be a game-time decision for the Utes’ 3 p.m. kick against Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Thamel reported the expectation is Rising will “attempt to start.”
If Rising does play, he isn’t expected to be 100%, according to Thamel, and Utah’s QB has been limited this week in practice. Rising injured his hand against Baylor when he was pushed out of bounds into the Gatorade coolers.

He missed the remainder of that Baylor game before sitting out the Utes’ win against Utah State last week. A seventh-year veteran, Rising has played just 65 live snaps across the past 600-plus days.
Should Rising not be able to go, the Utes will turn to true freshman Isaac Wilson, the younger brother of Zach Wilson. In three college games, the younger Wilson has gone 31-for-53 with 343 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.
Rising has thrown 29 passes this season — seven of those have gone for touchdowns. He’s also thrown for 346 yards and hasn’t thrown an interception this season.
The Cowboys and Utes kick off at 3 p.m. in Boone Pickens Stadium. The game will be televised on FOX.
