Reports: Two More Cowboys Poised to Enter Transfer Portal
Two more Cowboys hit the portal.
Reports have two more Cowboys planning to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Friday.
247Sports reporter Chris Hummer has OSU center Austin Kawecki set to explore his options, while CBS Sports reporter Matt Zenitz shared news that defender Taje McCoy will join him in the portal process.
Kawecki started at center for OSU and played 720 snaps this season. His potential departure would leave the program without any returning starters on the offensive line unless any of them decide to withdraw from the portal. Grant Seagren is reportedly reconsidering OSU, for example.
Out of Putnam City High School, Taje McCoy missed time due to injury, but he still managed to record 21 tackles (14th most on the team). He also finished fourth in tackles for loss (3.5) and was one of only four players to record multiple sacks. McCoy, an experienced transfer from Colorado, also forced and recovered a fumble.
The portal is flooded with Cowboys right now, as more than 40 have entered since Mike Gundy’s firing triggered a 30-day portal window for the Cowboys in September.
The transfer portal officially opens Friday, where new OSU coach Eric Morris will be tasked with filling more than 40 spots, by the looks of it.
