Seahawks’ Doug Baldwin on Chris Carson: ‘He Has All the Tools’
Chris Carson continues to impress coaches and teammates. That’s good news as the Seattle Seahawks’ seventh-round pick competes for a spot on the 53-man roster.
In addition to praise from Pete Carroll, Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin has now jumped aboard the praise train according to ESPN’s Sheil Kapadia.
Doug Baldwin said Chris Carson is the most polished rookie RB he’s ever been around. “He has all the tools,” Baldwin said. The Seahawks seventh-round pick continues to make waves at training camp. [ESPN]
The pro-bowl receiver had similar praise for Tyler Lockett two years ago prior to his rookie season. So we can probably trust his judgment when it comes to evaluating young talent.
“I’m really excited about this guy,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said recently. “Really have high hopes for him. We’ll see how he does. We’re just getting started. He’s a very physical runner in the style that we like. You can’t tell all of that here because we’re not finishing the runs with tackling. But I know it’s in his background, and we keep chirping at him, and we’ll see it happen when the time comes. We might have a really competitive guy at that spot.”
Final roster cuts have to be made by September 3 and if the talk around fall camp is any indicator, Carson has a real chance to make the team.
