Social Media Reax: Media, Fans Respond to OSU’s Beatdown of Oklahoma
Oklahoma State took Oklahoma wire-to-wire in a 71-60 beatdown in the first round of the Big 12 tournament on Wednesday.
The win gives OSU its sixth Quadrant 1 win of the season and sets up a pivotal Thursday afternoon showdown with No. 1 Kansas — a team it swept in the regular season.
Although OSU’s resume — along with its play — suggests the Cowboys are an NCAA Tournament team, there is still some skepticism in the eyes of Bracketologists. Local and national media, as well as fans, weighed in on that very topic after the game.
Oklahoma State non conference blahblahblah. Look at their league wins. Who would you rather play: them or the team they beat again tonight? OSU looks the part to me.

Oklahoma is 2-8 in its last 10 games.
Since the tournament field expanded in 1985, no team has gone 2-8 or worse in its final 10 games before the NCAA Tournament and gotten an at-large bid. H/T @EliasSports

Elsewhere, if OK State doesn't earn an at-large after tonight, it would be a terrible injustice. Neutral win against Oklahoma marks Cowboys' SIXTH Quad 1 win. Combine with no blemishes and they certainly have the "full body" resume.

No matter what happens with NCAA’s,@OSUMBB has found a terrific young coach in Mike Boynton. Like drafting a lottery pick. Great long term potential.

ESPN crew asking question I did last Sat… How does selection committee invite #Sooners before #OkState?

The last time KU lost three times to an opponent in a season was 1983. That was against Oklahoma State …
which had a young guard on the roster named Bill Self.

Oklahoma State is an NCAA Tournament team and the Big 12 still has a chance to have nine teams in the bracket. Cowboys beat OU again. Kansas next on Thursday.

Oklahoma State is a team nobody wants to play right now. Oklahoma is a team everybody wants to play right now.

Oklahoma State knocks off Oklahoma 71-60 in the first round of the Big 12 tourney. The Cowboys—not the Sooners—look like an NCAAT team. OU now lost eight of last 10.
