Talented Texas Cornerback Starrland Baldwin Names OSU in Top Schools
Oklahoma State has made the initial cut for three-star cornerback Starrland Baldwin of Cy Falls High School in Houston, Texas. Baldwin’s list, which he narrowed from 16 to 12, included Houston, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Iowa State, LSU, Utah, Nevada, Penn State, TCU, West Virginia and of course Oklahoma State.
Baldwin is the younger brother of linebacker Trey Baldwin, who spent just one season with the Missouri Tigers before transferring two months ago to the University of Trinity Valley. According to 247sports, the elder Baldwin is a 2018 prospect — so his recruitment could intertwine with Starrland should he drum up Division I interest again.
The 5-foot-10 cornerback exploded recently on the recruiting trail, going from two non-Division I offers to 16 — with the Sooners, now the presumptive favorite to land his services — jumping on the train with his first offer.
In speaking with Scout recently before trimming his list, however, he indicated a final decision may be months away.
“I want to take my time with it and make sure that I make the right decision and get my mom up to a couple of visits,” Baldwin said. “The last couple of visits have just been me and my mom, so I want to make sure to get her on some visits and see what she likes.”
