The Internet Reacts to Mike Gundy’s Decision to Stay at OSU
Mike Gundy turned down an offer from Tennessee that would have seen him making more than Urban Meyer and is staying put at OSU. That’s good news for Oklahoma State football, the university, this blog and the entire fan base.
While most (reasonable) fans are happy with his decision, not everyone was thrilled with the flirtation which seems to have become a yearly ritual.
Well looks like he is doing the #Okstate faithful another favor by staying again. Wonder who the offer of the year will be next season. #HappensEverySingleYear https://t.co/FgIrssP6CG

After today, my guess is Tennessee will probably only offer Mike Gundy a job two or three more times.

Apparently Gundy’s former players know him best.
Just my thinking…. if you saw the home Coach Gundy custom built, he isn’t taking that job. No way I’m believing it. That house is a masterpiece.

So what’s next for Tennessee?

Just hire Lane Kiffin, makes sense for everyone. They are the couple who didn’t work out but everyone agrees they need to give it another shot.

@DanWolken is this what happens when you turn control of a football program to a radio talk show host?

Set your alarms, boys and girls, @Lane_Kiffin on @outkick tomorrow at 820 et. Wonder what we’ll talk about?

An interesting perspective on the whole process.
Even if Gundy never had interest in the Tennessee job, taking the meeting accomplished several public relations positives:
1. Put Gundy in national headlines
2. Put OSU’s recent successes in the story under the headline
3. Affirmed his commitment to the school in a dramatic way— Death to Squinky (@DeathtoSquinky) November 29, 2017
4. Caught the attention of recruits
5. Created a narrative for recruiters to use
6. Made it a story that an SEC school was willing to pay him more as an elite coach
7. Showed Stillwater is more appealing than $$$ https://t.co/ySjBsGUa1r— Death to Squinky (@DeathtoSquinky) November 29, 2017
And of course, there is always at least a little #FakeNews when it comes to #SillySeason.

And this one is a bonus.
ESPN just credited @Brett_McMurphy for breaking news. That’s all I’m gonna say about that
