Jenni Carlson with a snapshot of 2010 – I have to be fair when it is warranted — this is a really great article. The best part? “The Cowboys also ran their streak of consecutive nine-win-or-better seasons to three. Only three other BCS schools can claim a run that long — Alabama, Ohio State and Oregon.” That’s really unbelievable when you think about it. No OU, no Texas, no USC, and no Florida.

Good Alamo rundown by Chatmon and Carlson – Interesting stuff in here about Weeden going from an intramural-esque “let’s see how far I can throw it” mentality to a Peyton Manning-like “check down, look here, throw there” feel for Holgorsen’s O in only 12 games. Bodes well for the future.

Outstanding Hunter story by Haisten – “In a program defined by great running backs, Hunter is one of only four Cowboys to reach the 4,000 mark in career rushing yards. Hunter has 4,194 yards and 37 rushing touchdowns. All-time leader Thurman Thomas ran for 4,595 yards in 1984-87. If not for a serious foot injury in 2009 – one that rendered him ineffective for most of the season – Hunter would be OSU’s career rushing champion.”

Ubben’s 3 keys to victory tonight – “1. Keep Arizona from YAC-ing all over the place. 2. Seriously, give Kendall Hunter the ball. 3. No special teams mistakes.” No arguments here, especially on #3. If OSU can control the special teams portion of the game then Holgorsen’s last stand as OC should be more than enough to overwhelm the Wildcats.

John Klein on the similarities of OSU and Arizona’s programs – Arizona’s record over the last 5 years: 7-5, 8-5, 8-5, 5-7, and 6-6 for a 34-28 total. OSU over the same period: 10-2, 9-4, 9-4, 7-6, 7-6 for a 42-22 total. I see what he’s saying, but the numbers don’t really back it up…

Stoops and Gundy talk to the media

Dr. Saturday with the 5 most valuable plays of the year – And one very very very costly one.

Interesting tidbits by Helsley on hoops – Mike Cobbins is more than likely getting a medical redshirt (which answers this question) and Karron Johnson might never make it to Stillwater. Given his 5 teams in 5 years Joe Smith impression, I’m not sure that I mind that.
