The Reload: OSU Hosts 12 for Official Visit Weekend Ahead of Signing Day

Published

on

Oklahoma State’s big recruiting weekend a week ago was one-upped this cycle only by this weekend’s lineup, which included not only the star-studded lineup of commits ranging from four-star WR C.J. Moore to three-star Israel Antwine, but also two uncommitted prospects worth watching as the early signing period inches closer.

Altogether, 12 recruits were on campus for OV’s. Let’s get to the list and some pictures, as well as some takeaways from the weekend.

• C.J. Moore, WR

• Jonathan Shepherd, WR

• Israel Antwine, DT

• Tyler Lacy, DE

• JayVeon Cardwell, CB

• Gabe Lemons, CB

• Jason Taylor II, S

• Kolby Peel, OLB

• Michael Scott, DE

• Lyn-J Dixon, RB (uncommitted, picking between OSU and Clemson)

• Tanner McCalister, CB (uncommitted)

• Jake Ross, TE

Notes

• Dixon, a four-star talent from Georgia, was hosted by freshman phenom J.D. King this weekend. He told GoPokes.com that he’ll make a decision on Tuesday between the Pokes and reigning national champion Clemson.

“The visit went really well. The thing that stood out was the people and the atmosphere surrounding the people and the program. Everybody is really nice and get along. I was comfortable with the players and the coaches.”

• Tanner McCalister, a former Arkansas pledge, is making his final decision on Sunday evening. Given the fact that he’s picking a mere hours after his OV to OSU wrapped and based off whispers I’ve heard surrounding him this week, I get the sense that OSU is in a very good position to land him. Good news should be coming around 7 p.m. tonight.

• Oklahoma State extended an offer to Louisiana safety/OLB Aaron Brule this week, a Georgia commit from Louisiana. It appears to be a last-ditch effort to land a talented three-star defensive back, considering his apparent intentions to look elsewhere with signing day looming. He made an official to TCU this weekend but I don’t think OSU has a shot.

• DL coach Joe Bob Clements made a visit to Wichita to check on 2019 DE target Marcus Hicks this week. Hicks has more than a dozen offers from the likes of OU, OSU, Michigan and others.

• OSU’s entire offensive staff made a point to see four-star QB pledge Spencer Sanders this week before his playoff tilt (and loss.) He’s signing this week.
