The Top 15 PFB Posts of 2015

Published

on

Before the Sugar Bowl madness begins, I wanted to post a recap of 2015.

This year was pretty easily the best PFB has ever had. A lot of that was due to Kyle Boone coming on board and doing such a terrific job. I can’t thank him (and the other contributors) enough.

PFB got over 7 million pageviews from over 800,000 unique visitors in 182 countries (I see you, Tonga).[1. This doesn’t necessarily mean 800,000 different humans. It means 800,000 different devices — I know many access with iPhone, iPad, desktop etc.]

The biggest day of the year was (unsurprisingly) the Sunday after Bedlam when we had 160K pageviews.

That’s pretty startling. And really cool. Something I’m proud of. Anyway, we published 2,025 blog posts in 2015. Here are the 15 most viewed.

1. The Stillwater trip — Uh … don’t keep doing this, guys. [whispers with eyes closed, “please keep doing this it’s so good for business”]

2. Sun Sets on Stillwater — Not a post I wish we had to write.

3. Players react to Bedlam loss on social media — Boone introduced me to how well social media posts play on blogs. Hashtag blessed.

4. Kaid Brock pins OU national champ — Look at wrestling out here just doing work on football and hoops.

5. Baylor hype video — Good hype videos are just the best.

6. Gundy has become the most invaluable coach in OSU history — A post I’m glad we got to write.

7. Texas beats Baylor — Haha, thanks, Texas! What you see going on here (and with the Brock post) is a much larger Facebook following than earlier in the year so stuff goes viral really quickly.

8. TCU hype video — More. Hype. Videos.

9. Bill Self ad — Twitter, a freshman wrestler, Texas-Baylor and Bill Self have taken over our top 10. Amazing.

10. Bedlam hype video — No surprise.

11. Mike Gundy fixes the CFB Playoffs — Gundy for NCAA Prez.

12. Students sing amazing grace on campus — This was pretty spectacular.

13. Trevone Boykin is straight class — TCU was a fun weekend for a number of reasons. TCU-Oregon should be awesome.

14. Oklahoma A&M throwbacks — These were great, but so were all the uniforms Chris Knox put together.

15. Baylor, OU to impress CFP Committee with field goals — Probably the smartest/funniest thing on the site all year.

Thanks to everyone for visiting and sharing. Boone and I (and the other contributors) are looking forward to an even bigger and better 2016.
