Oklahoma State made the final seven cut for three-star Class of 2023 defensive line talent Keviyan Huddleston just a few weeks ago, but it could not quite close the deal. The Texas talent on Friday committed to TCU over a final group that was comprised of OSU, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Arkansas, UTSA and Prairie View A&M.

Huddleston is a 6-foot-4, 235-pound recruit out of Tyler, Texas, who would have been a nice rebound for the Pokes after losing a commitment from Billy Walton — a defensive line talent who decommitted from OSU then subsequently flipped to Texas — at the end of last month.

Nonetheless, OSU’s 2023 class — despite a national ranking of No. 54 and a Big 12 ranking of ninth (ahead of only Kansas) according to the 247Sports Composite — still seems in decent shape. The 10-man class has a foundational piece in QB Zane Flores, two really solid in-state commits in JaKobe Sanders and Jaedon Foreman and some versatile talents on both sides of the ball.

How OSU can recover is the big question. It’s clear defensive line is still a big priority for the Pokes this cycle both as edge rushers and interior linemen, so Huddleston going elsewhere may trigger a new wave of targets in the coming weeks as the staff fills out the remainder of the recruiting class.
