Tre Flowers wants to silence 100,000 in Austin
Darrel K. Royal Memorial Stadium seats just over 100,000 people. That barely gets it inside the top 10 biggest stadiums in the country (amateur athletics!)
Earlier this week, Tre Flowers said OSU was ready for the challenge of entering that cauldron.
“For me, I love being at home,” said Flowers on Monday. “The atmosphere at Boone Pickens is great, but silencing 100,000 would be even better.”
It probably won’t take much. Texas isn’t, uh, known for its raucous games. That could be even more true this season as Texas hasn’t even reached 90,000 in attendance for its Big 12 opener.
About 15,500 tickets left for Texas-Oklahoma State game.

Maybe Emmanuel Ogbah knew this when he shorted the Horns 5K earlier this week.
“It feels like a homecoming. I have a lot of family in Texas that are coming to see the game. It will be a great game for us because I like playing in front of my family and it’s a huge stadium with 95,000 fans. So it should be a good game.”
And his QB sounds more than ready for his biggest road game yet.
“It’ll be a great challenge and a great atmosphere. I try to have the same mindset going into every game,” said Mason Rudolph.
“It is a challenge. It’s fun to play. It’s what every quarterback wants to do is to play in front of a big crowd. It’s obviously going to be a hostile environment and we’ll see how our guys will adapt to that. I think it’s going to be a tough road game.”
Hopefully, not as tough as we originally thought.
