Video: Mike Boynton, Cowboys Celebrate after Big Win over Florida State
Mike Boynton captained Oklahoma State to the biggest win of his young career, on the road, against an unbeaten, top-20 team. That sounds like a reason to celebrate.

Boynton and the Pokes were fired up and for good reason. Florida State had not lost a half this season and that streak didn’t end before halftime on Saturday, as the Seminoles took a 38-34 lead into the break. But the Cowboys overcame a 7-point deficit in the final eight minutes and did it with tough-nosed, stingy defense and hustle plays on offense.
“Unbelievably proud of you,” Boyton said to his team in the locker room. “Unbelievable… Effort, toughness and unselfishness, every day. Unbelievable formula. [We will] win a lot of games.”
Max effort + Toughness + Selflessness= Success! And a charge to seal the W. The focus of this TEAM is unbelievable. #DefenseFirst #LetsWork #GoPokes

Jeffrey Carroll made sure to single out his fellow senior who strung together back-to-back game-winning plays on both sides of the court.
“I almost felt like slow motion just how Terance Mann came down and scored on that tough put-back that he had and then Mitch [Mitchell Solomon] got that great tip-in and just playing hard and then coming down and taking that charge, it felt like a movie almost,” said Carroll.

And the newest member of Mike Boynton’s staff summed it nicely.
Big time win for @OSUMBB ! So proud of the guys ! They’ve been dealt a lot this year and all they do is keep working. Credit goes to @thacoachmike for leading this team. #GoPokes

Hopefully, the Cowboys can ride this momentum into Big 12 play with just two non-conference games remaining. And it starts with a quick turnaround as the Pokes welcome Tulsa Tuesday night at 8 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
