Where I Want Emmanuel Ogbah To Get Drafted

Mike Gundy said it best (per the usual).

“Now, I don’t have any clue,” Gundy told the Oklahoman. “I don’t know. Nobody does. But he brings so much more to the table off the field than what the percentage would be of most guys in his situation. He’s a very safe take.”

I would agree with Mike Gundy, but not everybody does. Todd McShay doesn’t have Ogbah going in the first round. Neither does NFL.com or USA Today. None of my CBS colleagues do either.

Carson and I discussed this on the podcast today, but it would be ideal for Ogbah to go at the very end of the first round to an already-established great team. Carolina, for example. Or maybe Denver. But since Mike Gundy is correct that none of us actually know where Ogbah is going to get drafted, here’s my wish list.

1. Dallas

The Cowboys have the 34th pick and, according to some, a big deficiency on the defensive line. Since O-State South is mercifully done with Greg Hardy (allegedly), it could be a nice slot for Ogbah to move in. I’m obviously biased here because I watch more Cowboys than any other team (because I live here and because Dez, Dan etc.), but I’m all in on this.

2. Green Bay

Ogbah could join Lane Taylor up north on one of those already-great teams I mentioned. The Pack doesn’t need a DE per se (and McShay has them taking Reggie Ragland who is a freak), but I feel like Ogbah would thrive in this culture.

3. New England

Tommy needs a WR more than Mason Rudolph needs an offensive line, but I can dream, can’t I? The Pats have the 60th pick in this draft which is probably far too low, but given the chatter that has flowed over the last few weeks, (like Gundy) I’m convinced anything can happen.

4. Denver

Malik Jackson [Edit: Jackson is no longer w/ Denver. My fault on that.]
Derek Wolfe
Von Miller
DeMarcus Ware
Emmanuel Ogbah

?

5. Indianapolis

Another team that needs help on the defensive line. They have the most difficult asset to attain (a franchise QB), and they need a line to protect him early in the draft, but if Ogbah slips to the second round, the Colts have the 48th pick.
