STILLWATER — It’s no secret that replacing departing center Abou Ousmane is a top priority for the Cowboys this offseason.

Four-star freshman Ben Ahmed signed on Wednesday, making his commitment to the Cowboys official.

“Ben is a physical, left-handed post player who is coming to us from one of the best prep school programs in the country,” Oklahoma State coach Steve Lutz said in a release. “He’s a hard worker and a relentless rebounder who understands what it takes to prepare, compete and win at the highest levels, having played in three straight national title games. I’m excited to officially welcome him to the Cowboy Basketball family!”

Ahmed is a consensus four-star center ranked 54th overall nationally by Rivals, 74th by On3 and 105th by 247Sports.

He earned MVP honors after scoring 20 points and adding four rebounds to lead Putnam Science Academy to a national prep championship earlier this month.

Ahmed finished his career scoring more than 1,500 points and collecting more than 1,000 rebounds in three seasons for Putnam Science Academy located in Connecticut. Originally from Nigeria, the four-star prospect finished his senior season averaging 12.3 points and 8.2 rebounds while shooting over 57% from the field.

He is the Cowboys’ seventh addition in the 2025 class and is the third tallest player on the roster behind fellow freshman Mekhi Ragland and current Cowboy Andrija Vukovic, who each measure up to 6-foot-10.
