4-star OSU LB Commit Reportedly Grew up a Sooner Fan

As you may have heard yesterday, Oklahoma St. landed a commitment from the No. 1 rated Oklahoma based prospect in the 2017 class. Draper had been to Stillwater to visit unofficially, but yesterday’s visit was set to be special from the beginning. He brought his parents, his sisters, and his grandparents to Stillwater and made the decision right in Coach Gundy’s office.

“It’s a place where I’ve known I’ve wanted to go for a long time,” Draper told the Tulsa World.

The best part about Draper’s commitment? He reportedly grew up a Sooner fan.

Fortunately for OSU, Glenn Spencer was able to form a relationship early with him and his conversations with OU didn’t really ramp up until the Cowboys had taken a stronghold on his recruiting.

“It felt the best and I was really comfortable there,” he told GoPokes.com Robert Allen. “Coach Spencer was a huge part of it from day one. He was one of my favorite guys that recruited me and I really love him and I love Coach Gundy.

I can only imagine Glenn Spencer running around the office pumping out inspirational quotes while Gundy did his thing.

Draper is a very athletic and explosive linebacker who runs a 4.6 40-yard dash – an impressive feat for a 6-foot-3, 230-pound mauler. Draper is already a well-respected defender, but will have a chance to improve his strength and polish his instincts before his time in Stillwater. If he is able to keep his pace at Collinsville, Draper could make instant impact for OSU early in his career.
