A Hilarious Short Story About OSU Punter Tom Hutton and a Pigeon
The Aussie punter deserves a clap.
Second-year punter Tom Hutton had an incredibly productive day at the office on Saturday against West Virginia, booming six punts for an average of 44.8 yards. It tied for his best per-punt average in a game since he arrived in Stillwater a year ago (in games he punted at least twice).
On the whole, it was the most complete outing of his career by a mile, with both his distance and control working in his favor. So as he trotted out for his fifth (and penultimate) punt of the day Saturday, he thought fans had taken notice of his brilliance. He thought he was getting an ovation. Instead …
There is no moral to this story. This is a blog and that is a hilarious anecdote that deserves to be shared. I can only hope that my next Tom Hutton blog is recapping an historic, record-setting ovation upon his return to Boone Pickens Stadium. This story deserves a happy ending.
