Oklahoma State Will Face Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl
Cowboys will face off against a former Big 12 foe.
Oklahoma State will face off against a former Big 12 foe in Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl.
The 8-4 Cowboys will head to Houston to face off against the 7-5 Aggies at NRG Stadium on Dec. 27 at 5:45 p.m. to take part in the Academy Sports and Outdoors Texas Bowl.
Oklahoma State landed at No. 25 in the final College Football Playoff rankings that were released Sunday and appeared in the committee’s top 25 every week. The Aggies appeared in none of the six rankings by the CFP. A&M dropped its final two games to Georgia and LSU.
The Cowboys are 10-17 all-time against Texas A&M but won four consecutive starting in 2008 to help usher the Aggies out of the Big 12.
This is OSU’s first appearance in the Texas Bowl, but the Cowboys appeared in two previous iterations of the bowl. Led by Les Miles, OSU won the 2002 Houston Bowl over Southern Miss and in 1983 the Pokes beat Baylor in the Bluebonnet Bowl.
