2019 Cornerback Xavier Player Commits to Oklahoma State Following Recent Offer
Oklahoma State’s coaching staff is strutting into the weekend with a new commitment aboard its 2019 class.
Cornerback prospect Xavier Player, a 6-foot, 170-pound prospect from Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, announced Friday evening that he has committed to Oklahoma State. His commitment comes just two days after announcing the staff had extended him a scholarship offer.

Player picked the Pokes over more than 20 other programs who had extended him a scholarship, among them North Texas, Cornell, UTSA and others. OSU was the only Big 12 program to extend him an offer.
Player joins a long list of recent Cibolo products to pick Oklahoma State, the most recent being 2018 signee JayVeon Cardwell, who signed to join as a cornerback. Other notable Cibolo products include former linebacker Ryan Simmons and safety Jordan Sterns.
Player is the eighth commitment for Oklahoma State in the 2019 recruiting cycle (and the second whose name is Xavier!). He’s the sixth-highest rated prospect in the class, per 247Sports, and the second cornerback commitment joining Booker T. Washington product Demarco Jones.
