2019 RB Target Darwin Barlow Locks in Official Visit with Oklahoma State

Class of 2019 running back prospect Darwin Barlow, a three-star prospect from Newton High School in Newton, Texas, will make an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend. Barlow is coming off an official to Arkansas this past weekend, and the 5-11 speedster told Rivals he’s looking forward to a weekend in Stillwater.

“I’m just going to try and see and do everything,” he said. “I’m looking forward to it. I just want to check out the place and meet with the coaches, I heard it’s nice out there so I want to look and see for myself.”

Barlow, who stands at a stout 200 pounds, says OSU has made him a priority in its recruiting efforts this summer and that their efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. As he settles into really digging into his final schools, that’s made a difference with his opinion of the program.

“The coaches came down to see me a lot over the spring and that means a lot,” he said. “It shows me that they really want me. They think that I can be a major asset to them and they have brought up me possibly graduating early to get up there quicker.

“They have watched me during the spring play running back and receiver,” he said. “I think that I fit perfectly in their offense – they’re always sending me plays telling me that I can be their next Chris Carson.”

Barlow has 22 scholarship offers and counting from the likes of TCU, Arkansas, LSU and others, but the Cowboys have long been a contender with him after offering at the beginning of the 2018 calendar year. The staff will have a big opportunity this weekend to roll out the red carpet and really impress him as they look to nab their first running back pledge of the 2019 cycle.
