Oklahoma State Offers Five-Star RB Zachary Evans
Oklahoma State extended an offer this week to one of the top national prospects in the Class of 2020 in running back Zachary Evans.
The five-star recruit from Houston’s North Shore High School is ranked by 247Sports as a top-40 prospect in the class, and the No. 4 player at his position overall. At 6-foot, 185-pounds, Evans already has the look of a Division I prospect, too, despite him being more than two years away from college.
Evans is the second RB offer for the Cowboys in the Class of 2020, joining five-star Jase McLellan from Aledo, who has already submitted his verbal commitment to the Sooners. McLellan is a top-15 prospect rated as the best prospect in Texas.
In addition to Evans’ new offer from the Pokes, he’s also landed scholarship opportunities from Alabama, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M, Houston, and UTSA.
As for realistic chances of landing this H-town blue-chipper, your guess is as good as mine. I’m a decade older and he’s still likely more than a year away from even taking his recruitment serious, but it’s absolutely worth noting that OSU has put its name in the hat for one of the top overall recruits in the Lone Star State for 2020.
