Westlake’s Braden Cassity Includes OSU in Final Four, Sets Official Visit
Westlake High School standout edge rusher Braden Cassity has whittled his options to four and set official visits ahead of his February signing.
According to 247Sports, those four are Oklahoma State, Tulane, Tulsa and Wisconsin. He’ll visit Tulsa the first weekend in January then head to Oklahoma State the weekend of Jan. 19.
As for his other officials, those are still in the works. Louisville, Tulane or Wisconsin could all be in line to earn visits; Cassity visited Wisconsin on an unofficial basis (meaning he paid his own expenses) earlier this cycle, and the Badgers have long been considered the favorite.
Oklahoma State extended an offer to Cassity, an outside linebacker and hybrid edge rusher, back in October, and has remained in constant contact. The Cowboys have one commitment at OLB for the 2018 cycle in Kolby Peel, but an extra body in the class wouldn’t hurt, especially given the fact that OSU booted freshman Brendan Vaughn off the team earlier this year.
Cassity is a three-star prospect who doesn’t intend to string out his recruitment until signing day, and will likely make his decision following the conclusion of his official visits. His impending visit to Oklahoma State in January will be his second, as he made an unofficial visit for junior day last January.
