Big Board: Top 2019 Running Back Targets for Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State’s 2019 class is just getting off the ground, with three commitments from Grayson Boomer, Tom Hutton and Demarco Jones, but things will begin to take off quickly.
With spring football quickly approaching, we are nearing a peak recruiting period when prospects will make visits — along with decisions — as many determine where they want to play college before they start their final season.
So with that in mind, who are Oklahoma State’s top targets at running back in the 2019 class? Thus far the staff hasn’t landed a tailback in the class, but there’s plenty of irons in the fire.
Here’s who is on the radar and who to watch.
Hankins is a 5-11, 207-pound speedster from El Paso, Texas who is nearing double-digit offers.
As a junior last season, he rushed for 2,063 yards and 24 touchdowns, despite missing multiple games due to injury. Texas Tech, Arkansas and San Diego State are also in the mix.
Barlow is an intriguing four-star prospect out of Newton High School because of his talents, and also because OSU is steadily pushing for his teammate, Tamauzia Brown, too.
Barlow is among the most talented running backs in Texas. He rushed for 2,246 yards and 38 touchdowns last season and has 17 offers.
Millwood High School standout Marcus Major is the next prospect I assume Oklahoma State will offer. The in-state standout is physically gifted, he’s explosive, and he’s officially no longer a sleeper: After leading Millwood to a 14-0 record this past season, he’s gone from unranked and unoffered, to nearly 20 scholarship offers, including Oklahoma.
With every list comes a pipe-dreamer, and Deondrick Glass fits that bill here. Although OSU was early with an offer for the blue-chipper from Katy, Texas, Glass has 23 offers and counting from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Oregon, Texas and others.
Unless he’s a distant relative to Rob Glass, I’d imagine he winds up at Texas.
