Three-star Forward Maurice Calloo Beginning Official Visit on Wednesday
Three-star 2018 prospect Maurice Calloo, a small forward/power forward hybrid from Huntington Prep, is set to begin his Oklahoma State official visit on Wednesday. It is scheduled to run through Friday.
The 6-foot-8, 210-pound recruit who has the handles and stroke of a guard but the size of a big man is a valuable prospect, especially at this stage in the recruiting cycle. With close to 10 scholarship offers, including Illinois and SMU, among others, he would be a terrific late-cycle addition to an OSU team.
With his skillset and versatility to play both inside and out as a stretch four of sorts, Calloo’s addition could give OSU size, strength and scoring for a team in need of all three.
Calloo is slated to arrive in town late Wednesday afternoon and is scheduled for a dinner with the coaching staff after he gets settled in at his hotel, per a source. The remainder of his visit over the next two days will consist of meetings with players, administration and training staff, as well as a trip before he leaves to the one and only Eskimo Joe’s. He will depart for home early Friday.
The Cowboy coaching staff is expected to lay out the red carpet for Calloo, and it’s quite clear the interest is reciprocated. All signs point to Calloo favoring Oklahoma State at this point, and the source I spoke with said that his trip to Stillwater is “very likely” his final visit.
His only other trip thus far has been to Michigan State.
Stay tuned.
