Daily Bullets (Nov. 12): Bryce Thompson Day, Hidde Out, Gunnar Gundy Recruitment Update
Today is Bryce Thompson day! Regardless – we still have Cade Cunningham either way.

• This may sound like a miserable existence but I’m going into this morning’s 10 a.m. announcement expecting Bryce Thompson to head elsewhere (Kansas is fine, OU would be the worst). But I did think these details from Bill Haisten’s interview with the Thompson family were interesting.
On Friday, the Thompsons were in Lawrence, Kansas, to watch the Jayhawks defeat UNC Greensboro 74-62. For the first time, Bryce witnessed a game at Allen Fieldhouse.
On Saturday, Bryce and the Hornets were in Wichita Falls for the annual Elite 14 scrimmage event involving teams from Texas and Oklahoma.
On Sunday, (Bill) Self is expected to visit the Thompson home. [TulsaWorld]
The fact that he only went to two games in the last week (Kansas and OSU) I would think points out his serious finalists. It blows my mind that he’s only been to a game in Lawrence once and it was last weekend. But giving Self the last in-home on Sunday doesn’t seem like a positive sign.
• It doesn’t sound serious but I was bummed to hear Hidde Roessink was injured over the weekend.
Freshman Hidde Roessink left the game after falling under the basket and grabbing his left knee in pain with 20 seconds left in the first half. Roessink didn’t return, but OSU communications said during halftime that it is expected to be a minor left knee injury that shouldn’t have him out for too long.
“I think long term he’s going to be fine,” Boynton said after the game. “I don’t know exactly when he’ll be able to practice again but initially, obviously the scare was probably the biggest thing. We’ll see on Monday hopefully, we’ll have an update on him.” [TulsaWorld]
• GoPokes had a solid update on the recruitment of Gunnar Gundy, Mike’s middle son.
Gunnar told me that is his one dimensional focus right now. Signing day, the early one is just about six weeks away and his offer list includes Eastern Michigan, Toledo, and NEO A&M Junior College along with interest from schools like Central Florida and others but all that will wait and work itself out. [GoPoke$]
There are worse places to go to college than Florida. NEO would be the place to go if he’s interested in making a go of it at a bigger school.
• Good signing day detail here on when to expect the 2020 Cowboy Basketball recruits to send in their letters of intent.
(Cade Cunningham) is expected to sign with the Cowboys on Wednesday along with Putnam West four-star guard Rondel Walker, who was also in Stillwater on Friday. [NewsOK]
• This is sort of surprising about the program history that will be made on Saturday:
A little #okstate history will be made Saturday. @CowboyFB has never faced one of its former head coaches. That changes when @CoachLesMiles and the Jayhawks visit.

• Cowgirl Soccer opens the NCAA tourney at home on Friday.
The #okstate soccer team draws a No. 3 seed and will face South Dakota State in the NCAA Tournament opener at 7 pm Friday at Neal Patterson Stadium
