OSU Extends Offer to Stillwater Linebacker Gabe Brown
OSU coaches hoping they found a diamond in the rough in Stillwater LB.
Oklahoma State has earned a reputation for identifying talent before the rest of the country can catch on. And we’ve seen several times where getting in early works out to the Cowboys’ benefit.
Could an offer extended across town turn out to be the next example of the coaching staff’s ability to recognize potential?
OSU extended said offer to 2022 inside linebacker Gabe Brown on Thursday, according to his Twitter account.
Who is He?
Brown is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound inside linebacker. As I alluded to above, he hails from Stillwater High, where he put up some impressive numbers during his sophomore year.
Brown grabbed 126 tackles, eight tackles for loss, a forced fumble, two recovered fumbles and he snatched an interception on his way to a first-team All-Area finish.
At the National Combine in January, Brown put up some decent numbers, posting a 5.15-second 40-yard dash, 4.35 in the shuttle and an 8-9 in the broad jump.
In the Rankings
Brown is currently unranked by any of the major services but with OSU throwing its hat in the ring — and if he keeps racking up those types of numbers — that will change.
Others Involved
OSU is Brown’s first offer.
Highlights
OSU only currently has one commitment for the 2022 class, three-star safety De’Kelvion Beamon.
