Daily Bullets (Sept. 25): Next Step for the Cowboy Offense, No Decision on Starting QB for K-State
Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
OSU’s bye week is already here – let’s settle in for an early fall break from Cowboy Football.
OSU Bullets
โข If Alan Bowman won OSUโs quarterback job Saturday, Mike Gundy isnโt saying (Sellout Crowd)
โข Tracking Kasey Dunn’s quest to average 25 points per game (in honor of Iowa’s Brian Ferentz) – Current number: 61 points down, 264 to go (assuming OSU makes a bowl game) The offense needs to average 29.3 points per game to land in the top 85 of last yearโs scoring offenses.
โข The Cowboy offense took a step in Ames after scoring seven points against South Alabama (that lost to Central Michigan). But the next step still looms for the Pokes to be successful offensively.
Mike Gundyโs decision to go with a solo quarterback, Alan Bowman, worked reasonably well. But outside of Ollie Gordonโs 71-yard run, the OSU running game remained unproductive. And now the defense has collapsed against an offense that appeared to be the Big 12โs worst.
This is shaping up as a long, long season in Stillwater.
