TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER

Another former Cowboy QB is headed to Oxford.

Former Oklahoma State quarterback Maealiuaki Smith has signed with Ole Miss, according to multiple reports.

Smith played in four games at OSU last season, throwing for 489 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions. He completed 60% of his passes. He had his best game against Texas Tech, throwing for 316 yards, two TDs and a pick and turning in a passer rating of 163.3. Since he retained his redshirt status, he joins Ole Miss with four years of eligibility remaining.

Smith was one of four QBs that the Cowboys came into the spring with but entered the transfer portal on April 21. Garret Rangel also jumped into the portal in April, leaving Zane Flores and incoming transfer Hauss Hejny. The Cowboys have since added former Tulsa passer Banks Bowen who committed to OSU on April 29.

Longtime starter Cowboy Spencer Sanders also made to move from Stilly to Oxford ahead of the 2023 season but played a reserve role behind Jaxson Dart. He totaled 278 yards and three touchdowns with the Rebels. But the QB competition will be a little more open this fall at Dart was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Smith becomes the second former Cowboy to join the Rebels this offseason, as wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling transferred to Oxford in the first portal window.
