EUGENE, Oregon — The Cowboys visit one of the premier programs in all of college football on Saturday when they play No. 6 Oregon.

Oklahoma State enters this game at 1-0 after beating UT-Martin 27-7 in Week 1. The Ducks are also 1-0 with a 59-13 win against Montana State. It’s just the second time these programs have met, with the other being the 2008 Holiday bowl.

Zane Flores will make his first start after Hauss Hejny suffered a Jones fracture in OSU’s Week 1 win. It’ll also be the first major test for a Cowboy team that has seen a lot of turnover both on the roster and within the coaching staff.

We’ll update this post regularly throughout Saturday’s game, so be sure to keep refreshing.

Pregame Notes

It looks like Rodney Fields Jr. is going to play based off warmups. The redshirt freshman running back missed the Cowboys’ season opener.

However, we didn’t spot starting left tackle Markell Samuel in the pregame stretch lines. It looks like right tackle Nuku Mafi flipped to the left and Nebraska transfer Grant Seagren is going to get some run at RT.

First Quarter

Oregon wins the toss, takes the ball and scores on a two-play drive. Oregon running back Noah Whittington goes 59 yards to the house.

Score: Ducks 7, Cowboys 0

It’s not looking good for the Pokes. The OSU offense goes three-and-out and Oregon scores on its first play. Oregon fails to convert a 2-point conversion.

Score: Ducks 13, Cowboys 0

The OSU defense gets its first stop, halting the Ducks on a fourth-down attempt. Then the Cowboy offense gets its first first down on a pass from Flores to Josh Ford, but the Cowboys punt after that.

Oregon rumbles down the field and scores on a four-play, 80-yard touchdown drive.

Score: Ducks 20, Cowboys 0

There is still 5:04 left in the quarter, by the way.

The Cowboys are putting together a nice drive as the opening quarter comes to an end. OSU will start the second with the ball on Oregon’s 18.

End of 1: Ducks 20, Cowboys 0

Second Quarter

The Cowboys are one the board. Logan Ward caps off a 16-play, 69-yard drive with a 23-yard Logan Ward field goal. It was a solid drive from Trent Howland, who is up to 29 rushing yards on five carries (5.8 yards per). Howland didn’t play in OSU’s season opener.

Score: Ducks 20, Cowboys 3

Oregon responds. Dante Moore hits Malik Benson for a 42-yard touchdown. Moore is 8-for-10 with 159 yards and two touchdowns.

Score: Ducks 27, Cowboys 3

Oregon scores again. The five-play, 63-yard drive is capped off by a 25-yard Dakorien Moore touchdown run.

Score: Ducks 34, Cowboys 3

Another one. Eleven seconds left in the half.

Score: Ducks 41, Cowboys 3

Half: Ducks 41, Cowboys 3

Third Quarter

The Cowboys go three-and-out on their opening series of the half, and the Ducks respond with another touchdown drive. Dante Moore caps it off with an 11-yard pass to Gary Bryant Jr.

Score: Ducks 48, Cowboys 3

After another failed OSU drive, Oregon attempts a 57-yard field goal that comes up short. The Ducks had scored five straight touchdowns before that.

After a brief break, Oregon is back in the end zone. Backup quarterback Luke Moga leads his first TD drive.

Score: Ducks 55, Cowboys 3

Oh, boy. Flores throws a pick-six. There’s 1:09 left in the third quarter.

Score: Ducks 62, Cowboys 3

You’re not going to believe this, but Oregon had another pick-six. Twenty-seven seconds left in the third quarter.

Score: Ducks 69, Cowboys 3

End of 3: Ducks 69, Cowboys 3

Fourth Quarter

Obviosuly, the circumstances have changed given Oregon’s decision to rotate backups in, but Oklahoma State has now forced its only punts on back-to-back possessions with less than four minutes remaining in the game.

Final Score: Ducks 69, Cowboys 3.
