The Cowboys have added a second defender from the reigning Big 12 champions.

Braylon Rigsby announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Thursday. On3 considers Rigsby the No. 682 player in the portal, putting him 65th among defensive linemen.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 275 pounds, Rigsby played in 26 games for the Red Raiders across the past two seasons, accumulating 24 tackles and three tackles for loss in that time. Per PFF, Rigsby has 21 quarterback pressures and two quarterback hits in his career.

He should have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Rigsby played in one game while redshirting in 2023 before playing in 12 of Tech’s 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2024. That 2024 season saw Rigsby earn his first career start, and he finished the year with 18 tackles, three tackles for loss and a PBU.

Tech had perhaps the best defense the Big 12 had ever seen this past year, and Rigby played in all 14 of the Red Raiders’ games, making six tackles in 133 defensive snaps. He was credited with six quarterback hurries this season.

Out of Woodville, Texas, Rigsby was a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He chose Texas Tech over offers from Kansas State, Washington State and others.

Rigsby is the fifth defensive linemen the Cowboys have picked up from the portal, joining Keviyan Huddleston (North Texas), Fatafehi Vailea II (North Texas), Jerry Lawson (Louisville) and Billy Walton (SMU).

Rigsby joins corner Maurion Horn as Texas Tech transfers who are headed to Stillwater, and those two join center Tyler Mercer (Kansas), corner Kanijal Thomas (Kansas State) and linebacker Tate Romney (Arizona State) as players who have transferred to OSU from Big 12 schools.
