The Cowboys’ portal pickups continue into Sunday with the commitment of a corner from Conference USA.

Liberty’s Christian Bodnar committed to Oklahoma State on Sunday. He started 11 games for the Flames in 2025, finishing his redshirt sophomore campaign with 44 tackles, two sacks, and two pass breakups.

According to PFF, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Bodnar was targeted 43 times in 2025 and gave up 27 catches for 240 yards and a touchdown. PFF gave him a season defensive grade of 72.2.

On3 considers Bodnar the No. 574 player in the transfer portal.

Bodnar was listed as a safety when he first got to Liberty in 2023. He redshirted that year, playing in three games — including the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon.

He had a strong start to the 2024 season but played in just five games before being diagnosed with post-infectious encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain. In those five games as a redshirt freshman he made 13 tackles and picked off a pass he that returned 43 yards.

Bodnar emphatically returned to the field in 2025 and was named to the Comeback Player of the Year watch list.

He hails from Brandon, Florida by way of Bloomingdale High School. He finished his senior year with 45 tackles, 800 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns while also participating on the track team.

He was a three-star high school prospect with offers from Iowa State, USF, FAU and others.

Bodnar is the fourth corner the Cowboys have added via the portal, joining Kanijal Thomas (Kansas State), Kollin Lewis (North Texas) and Maurion Horn (Texas Tech). OSU has also added safeties Quinton Hammonds (North Texas), Evan Jackson (North Texas) and Vincent Holmes (Washington).

Here are some Bodnar highlights:
