OSU Offers 2020 Power Forward Isaiah Todd
Oklahoma State has extended a scholarship offer to 15-year-old power forward Isaiah Todd of John Marshal High School in Richmond, Virginia, he announced this weekend.
Todd is a 6-foot-10 prospect with a dozen offers already from the likes of North Carolina, Kansas, Baylor and others.
Although listed as a power forward, Todd is a swiss-army tool who can do it all on the hardwood. He’s a prototypical big man with a game fit for the NBA—he can handle the ball like a point guard, he can run the floor in transition, and he has a terrific mid-range game that trickles down into the low post.
Todd is a standout on the AAU circuit for Andrew Wiggins’ Team Loaded-VA 16’s—the same team OSU target David McCormack is playing on, albeit a different age group.
Mike Boynton’s hiring of long-time AAU mainstay David Kontaxis is a big part of the recruitment of McCormack, who I think OSU is in the lead for at the moment, as well as the new offer to Todd. Kontaxis has deep ties in the AAU trenches, and it will be interesting to follow along with Todd’s recruitment to see if those ties pay dividends down the road.
