DE Michael Scott Commits to Oklahoma State
Trinity Valley Community College defensive end Michael Scott announced late Thursday that he’s taking his talents to the Big 12 and pledging to join Oklahoma State as a member of its 2018 recruiting class.
Scott, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound prospect, is a former SMU signee who enrolled at the school in 2015 out of Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas; he later left the program and took the junior college route.
Scott is the second DE commit for 2018 joining high school prospect Tyler Lacy out of Sachse, Texas. He’s also the second defensive line commitment of the week for OSU, joining Millwood High School’s Israel Antwine, a DT who pledged this week.
With Tralund Webber and Vili Leveni both expiring their eligibility following this season, OSU has officially plugged its major holes at the defensive end position for 2018. However keep an eye on Arizona Western’s Azur Kamara and Westlake’s Braden Cassity among guys who could remain targets for OSU in 2018 at DE. With Trey Carter moving inside to tackle after originally joining the program as a D-end, it might create one more opening on the edge that one of these prospects could fill.
