Bedlam in primetime? *slams caps lock*

BEDLAM IN PRIMETIME.

It’s official. The Big 12 announced Monday morning that the Week 14 showdown between OSU and OU in Stillwater has landed in the 7:00 p.m. time slot on FOX, the only evening kick (for now) as Baylor-KU and ISU-K-State are in a TV window that will either be picked up at 2:30 or 6:00 on ESPN, ESPN2 or FS1.

This is bigly. Despite Bedlam over the last decade being close to can’t-miss TV, it hasn’t always been a favorable time slot for OSU. Last season the game in Norman fell in the 2:30 p.m. window, the year before, 3:00 p.m., the year before, 11:30 a.m.. The last time we had a night Bedlam game in Stillwater was 2015 (which was an epic 58-23 letdown in which Mason Rudolph played one snap and tossed a pick six.)

Barring some miraculous turn of events, the winner of Bedlam likely won’t be a play-in game for the Big 12 championship, but it will nonetheless have massive ramifications outside of, you know, it being Bedlam. OSU could enter the game on a four-game winning streak (dependent upon how it fares in Morgantown on Saturday), and OU will likely enter on a two-game winning streak (dependent upon how it fares with TCU at home on Saturday). If it takes out OSU — as it has every year since 2014 — it will likely roll into the Big 12 title game to (probably) face Baylor.
