The Big East’s Freshman of the Year is moving to middle America to play for Jacie Hoyt.

Oklahoma State on Thursday announced the signing of Georgetown transfer Kennedy Fauntleroy. With the Hoyas last season, the 5-foot-7 Fauntleroy averaged 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.4 steals a game. Out of Maryland, She was the No. 75 player in the 2022 class out of high school.

“We are thrilled to add Kennedy to our Cowgirl family,” Hoyt said in OSU’s release. “Last year she proved to be one of the best point guards in the country as a freshman and we can’t wait to help her prove herself again. A scoring point guard is a coveted position for us and the style we play and Kennedy is all that and more.”

Fauntleroy scored in the 20s on four occasions as a freshman, including a 28-point performance in a win against Xavier where she went 4-for-6 from 3-point range. She shot 36% from deep on the season.

Fauntleroy is the latest in a good crop of transfer gets for Hoyt this offseason.

Last week the program announced the addition of Kansas transfer Ioanna Chatzileonti, a 6-foot-3 forward who averaged 8.8 points a game during her three-year career as a Jayhawk.

Former Oklahoma preps standout Rylee Langerman (from Norman) is also set to join the Cowgirls after three seasons at Arkansas where she averaged 2.5 points and 3.2 rebounds a game.

Then there is North Texas transfer Quincy Noble, who averaged 17 points a game for the Mean Green this past season. A 5-foot-10 guard, Noble scored at least 20 points 11 times this past season, including a 30-point game against Wichita State in November.

Like with the men’s program, the OSU women’s program will have quite a bit of turnover heading into next season. Naomi Alnatas, Claire Chastain, Kassidy De Lapp, Terryn Milton and Trinitee Jackson all exhausted their eligibility, and Lexy Keys and Taylen Collins entered the transfer portal.

But with the strong moves Hoyt has made in the portal, things seem to be rebounding well.
