Bracketology: Oklahoma State Out of the Field for Palm, Lunardi

It could come down to how much the selection committee likes the NET.

Early bubble results from Thursday were going the Cowboys’ way despite their loss to Texas, but as the night went on things started to flip.

Oklahoma State is out of the NCAA Tournament field, according to highly regarded bracketologists Joe Lunardi and Jerry Palm. Arizona State beating USC and Utah State beating New Mexico were the daggers for the Pokes. As of Friday morning, Lunardi has OSU as the first team out while Palm has the Pokes as the second team out.

Among those teams, Rutgers, Mississippi State, Clemson, Arizona State and Utah State all have games Friday.

The Cowboys rank 42nd in the NET, which ranks fourth among the 10 bubble teams listed above. So depending on how much the selection committee takes the NET into account could determine whether OSU goes dancing or plays in the NIT.

So, if you’re looking for some hoops to watch Friday and still have some hope that Mike Boynton’s team gets into the field, here is when to watch and who to cheer for:
