Chuba Hubbard Listed Sixth on ESPN’s Heisman Watch
This is getting a little more serious.
The latest rendition of ESPN’s Heisman Watch is out, and a certain Canadian freight train made his debut.
Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard is listed sixth on the nine-man list after his 296-yard outing against Kansas State this past weekend. As of now, Hubbard is given 18-to-1 odds by Caesars Sportsbook to win the highest individual prize in college football.
Above Hubbard are quarterbacks Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Joe Burrow and Justin Fields. Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor is listed a spot ahead of Hubbard, despite Hubbard having run for 379 more yards than Taylor to this point.
Below Hubbard are Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger, Ohio State defensive end Chase Young and Georgia QB Jake Fromm.
It’s certainly fun to look at on Oct. 1, but the award won’t get handed out until Dec. 14. So, while it will be hard to usurp a quarterback for the award, Hubbard still has plenty of time to build his case.
