OSU Bullets

• One of the more unique developments coming out of the spring practice finale was a new solution for the outside receiver opening.

After Saturday’s practice, though, Gundy also mentioned the possibilities of veteran inside receiver Dillon Stoner getting some work out there.

“When we get into the middle of August, we have to make a decision and go with it,” Gundy said. “The good news with Stoner is, is he can play every position, so if we needed to make a move, we certainly could.” [PFB]

Stoner would probably look similar to former Cowboy Austin Hays (6’2″) who spent a good chunk of his career outside. You could definitely see Stoner knowing how to get open with his quickness but less sure about him with longer routes.

• Cowboy commit Brynden Walker was offered by the Evil Empire last week but had some good news for the Pokes over the weekend.

“For OU to reach out and it’s pretty cool because they are a top tier program, and it caused a lot of activity on my Twitter,” he said kind of laughing. “The coaches asked me about it yesterday at Oklahoma State.”

Then he launched into the sentence that every Oklahoma State fan wants to hear.

“There is no flipping for me. I am 100 percent committed to Oklahoma State,” Walker said. “It’s really cool, but I’m as committed to Oklahoma State and all of those people as the day I made the decision.” [Go Pokes]

• As the Pokes finished the three-game sweep of Texas, the hero from game three sounds like a memorable situation.

(Andrew) Navigato, a junior shortstop on the Oklahoma State baseball team and first-year transfer from Cuesta Community College, said he had never played with so many fans supporting him. With their unwavering encouragement, he experienced another first.

He hit a walk-off single to center field and secured a sweep of Texas on Saturday in Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The Cowboys sneaked past the Longhorns 11-10 in the third game of the series.

“Actually, I’ve never hit a walk-off before in my life, so it’s a good feeling right now,” Navigato said. [O’Colly]

I enjoyed this awesome picture from Saturday’s win too.

• This was another surprising tidbit from Saturday’s spring scrimmage – an unusual position change.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 212 pounds, (LC) Greenwood probably still needs to add some weight, but he isn’t far off. Calvin Bundage, for example, is 6-2, 215. I didn’t watch Greenwood too much Saturday because my eyes for the most part were burning holes into Dru Brown and Spencer Sanders. Afterward, Gundy said it’s too soon to tell how good he can be there. For now, he is still number 81, but he said he isn’t sure if that’s going to stick. [PFB]

Greenwood moving from wide receiver to linebacker was pretty crazy – Cowboy Back or defensive back would have been much more normal position swaps.
