Mount Justice

Seeing how Justice Hill runs in his second season will be a really fun early season storyline.

Hill was the nation’s top freshman rusher with 1,142 yards last season, and the speedster looks better than ever. He added some power to his game in the offseason and impressed Washington.

“I don’t know if you saw the video of him squatting 565 pounds — the kid is only 195 pounds — so that’s ridiculous,” Washington said. “He’s showing younger guys, `Look, I can do this, so you can too if you just work hard.’” [FoxSports]

For a guy that came in undersized to never hit a freshman wall – then build on that should be really fun. Also, apparently the trick to talking with all of these reserved Gundy recruits is just to ask them questions about each other.

No Vacancy

Jawun leaves a massive hole in the lineup at the point guard position, here is the trio contending to attempt to fill in for the All-Big 12 LA Clipper.

(Grad transfer Kendall) Smith averaged a team-high 16.7 points per game and 4.8 assists per game in his redshirt-junior season at California State University, Northridge. (Sophomore Brandon) Averette managed eight multi-steal games last season for the Cowboys, and (freshman Zac) Dawson is a four-star recruit from basketball-hungry Miami. [okstate.com]

Smith feels like he could be an Anthony Hickey-esque type of player while Dawson taking the reins would be the most encouraging sign long-term. Sign me up for this guy.

OSU and NCAA Notes

Mason discussed as a Heisman longshot….KU football players won a raffle for a put on scholarship at a Royals game….Nebraska coach bought the team concert tickets – feels like this would be a violation?….Estranged West Virginia receiver joins the Last Chance U quarterback at Florida Atlantic with Lane Kiffin….Almost a GIA-full of students -13,000 – applied to OSU this past year

Concerning the OKC Dave survey, this is why Dez is on the receiving end of 2/3’s of the ultimate QB/WR combo.

Small gesture but love it when athletes use their platform to care for others.

Really wish we could have seen Carson doing more stuff like this last year – would have to be most intimidating running back screen at OSU in my lifetime.

He’s even better if you give him free plays that he shouldn’t have.
