Pro Potential
It’s early but how should pro scouts be comparing Mason Rudolph to his other NFL-bound peers?
(Rudolph) has the ideal pro size at 6’5”, 230 pounds and his 55 career touchdowns to 17 interceptions blow out some of the other top quarterbacks in the sport. Sam Darnold has less than a season under his belt, Josh Rosen has just 33 touchdowns to 16 interceptions during his time at UCLA and has dealt with several injuries.
Lamar Jackson’s size will always be a concern, while J.T. Barrett’s inconsistency has hurt him, and few believe Baker Mayfield has the pro tools necessary to compete at the next level. [Heartland College Sports]
That sounds pretty ideal to me. I was recently thinking about how much Bill Parcells would probably love to draft Rudolph per his decreed standards.
Closer to Contender than Pretender
SB Nation has the Pokes grouped with some teams just outside of the ring but not out of consideration for a title shot at No. 14.
This is a mix of recruiting powerhouses (Auburn, LSU, Michigan), recent successes (Washington, Penn State), and teams with elite units and players but severe questions on one side of the ball (OSU, Louisville). With a couple of breakout stars or a healthy two-deep, any one of them can be a contender in mid-November. [SB Nation]
This is about right for peak Gundy teams right? This seems like an honest evaluation from a national perspective: finely groomed system players with a handful of pros sprinkled in being grouped with bluebloods and other upstarts from six to fifteen.
