Top Ten

SportsOnEarth says the Camping World Bowl will be top ten in watchability – enjoy the rest of the rankings.

This has the ability to be a fun one between two ranked teams that have yet to beat an opponent ranked in the current top 25. It’s the final college game for the prolific Oklahoma State passing combination of QB Mason Rudolph and WR James Washington, and they’ll face another stingy Virginia Tech pass defense under coordinator Bud Foster.

This is arguably the best defense the Cowboys have seen this season. [SportsOnEarth]

The low-hanging fruit and reason most nationally will tune in is Cowboy offense versus Hokie defense. Rudolph-to-Washington is 2-1 in bowl games (with the Cheatin’ Rebels being the only flaw), other conferences have struggled when facing so much firepower.

Bonus Pay

Details on head coach Mike Boynton’s contract surfaced – standard incentives appear in place.

Boynton’s contract includes a list of performance incentives, including $35,000 for making the NCAA Tournament and $40,000 for each NCAA Tournament win. Boynton would get a $50,000 bonus for winning the Big 12 regular season title and $35,000 for the Big 12 Tournament. He would receive $50,000 for winning a national coach of the year award and $25,000 if he is named Big 12 Coach of the year. [TulsaWorld]

Call me crazy but if you were able to unseat Kansas for the regular season title as a first-time head coach, you’d think a sizable bonus capable of paying off a house in southwest Stillwater should be possible.

OSU and NCAA Notes

See what gifts are given for this year’s bowl games….Sign me up for Wetzel’s eight-team playoff….Love Clemson-Bama round three – Ohio State drinking their own 2016 playoff medicine is fantastic….Star Sooner running back facing rape allegations (two days after Big 12 championship)….Why playoff committee got it right….Josh Heupel hired to coach at UCF

The “O” in Oklahoma stands for offense.

Legen… wait for it… dary.

Top plays for the Pokes against Jerry Rice’s alma mater.
