Keep the Hope
After a three-touchdown loss Wednesday night in Norman, there’s no reason to think NCAA tourney hopes aren’t still alive and well. Just look at this four-game stretch the Pokes are starting down:
There’s never going to be a stretch of games the rest of the season where you can assume a couple wins for Oklahoma State.
But there will be opportunities. And the next four games feel critical to OSU’s attempt to work toward an NCAA Tournament bid.
Here they are (with OSU’s KenPom probability of winning included):
Wednesday: at Oklahoma (19 percent)
Jan. 6: vs. Iowa State (76 percent)
Jan. 10: at Kansas State (32 percent)
Jan. 13: vs. Texas (54 percent)
A 2-2 mark over those four games — at least defending home court — would keep OSU in good shape. [TulsaWorld]
While signature wins are a must-add for a tourney resume, winning six to eight games in a league like the Big 12 puts you between the bubble and a sure thing. Winning two of four in this stretch would be a good start.
Tough to get too down about this:

Fun and Gun
There’s a nice title for the Rudolph-to-Washington era nestled in with a site’s All-Big 12 team – honoring James Washington as their best “iso wide receiver”.
1418 yards, 13.3 yards per target, this dude has defined the “fun and gun” style of the Oklahoma State offense for the last three years. I’d say it’s nice he’s now gone but honestly, I figure Tyron Johnson or some other fellow will probably replace him and Gundy will keep on keeping on. [Concerning Sports]
While the 2017 Pokes rarely attacked you relentlessly with all their weapons, it felt like the offense was automatically spotted 14 points a game for Rudolph-to-Washington related chunk plays or outright points. Fun-and-Gun indeed.
OSU and NCAA Notes
I’m on board with this CFP scenario – especially a committee seeding not selecting….NPR looks at how college football means big business in some states….Do you need a good tight end to make the Playoff?….SportingNews takes a stab at their way-too-early top 25
Enjoy the game as the Pokes look to land that first Big 12 win.
Tomorrow we tangle with the Cyclones in GIA. #letswork #okstate

Love hearing stuff like this.
