• Can you imagine if OSU could have Cade Cunningham for more than one year? Please don’t hold your breath but do enjoy this quote.
“[Being a one-and-done] has always been a goal of mine,” Cunningham said. “The NBA is the end goal for me. Hopefully it’s in one year, but if it’s not, I’m comfortable with the people that I’m around. I’m comfortable that if I stay here four years I’d be just as happy as I am going into this year…” [PFB]
• This is big – the Big Ten announced they won’t play non-conference football games. This is a great idea from the perspective of buying time to decide if the season will be played or not. Also – the ACC and PAC-12 appear to be following suit, which would affect the Pokes’ season opener against Oregon State.
– FYI: the Big 12 commissioner said it’s too early to decide.
• The story about Mike Boynton offering freshman Cade Cunningham is pretty wild… he did it without head coach Brad Underwood’s permission!
Cunningham was a high school freshman participating in preseason workouts that were mostly conditioning and some pick-up games. Cunningham wasn’t expecting to be recruited that early, but Boynton walked up to him and offered him a scholarship, which caught Cunningham by surprise.
“I was, like, ‘What?'” Cunningham said. “He told me later on that Brad Underwood didn’t even know that he was offering me. … It’s just a crazy story… [TulsaWorld]
• Incoming Cowboy guard Rondel Walker landed the Jim Thorpe award for Oklahoma’s best male basketball player yesterday
• Chuba Hubbard is the odds on favorite to win the Doak Walker Award (best RB in college football)
• That Cowboy baseball legend Gary Ward applied to coach basketball under Eddie Sutton at Arkansas blew my mind:
Came across Gary Ward discussing how he interviewed for an assistant role on Eddie Sutton’s basketball staff at Arkansas.
The job went to Gene Keady, so Coach Ward turned his focus to baseball. Worked out pretty well for @OSUBaseball. #GoPokes pic.twitter.com/r0HsiMB0h4

• Below may be one of the better macro-level thoughts about college football – you get more by waiting.
The 1972 Stanford Marshmallow Experiment gave children a choice: 1 marshmallow immediately, or 2 after 15 minutes. It showed that kids that waited for 2 had better outcomes later in life.
Anyway, might be a choice between a partial fall Football season or a full season in Spring

• My wife is the attorney in the family but this Supreme Court ruling (via WSJ) that the Creek tribal lands are still a reservation was pretty wild – here’s an FAQ explaining more
