Been There, Seen That
Cowboy offensive line coach Josh Henson had a feeling when he coached on successful teams at LSU and Mizzou – and he feels good about this Cowboy team.
“You know I think about situations and I look back and there were five teams I was a part of two at LSU and three at Missouri that I thought had a chance to be really good or that ended up being really good,” Henson expounded. “The two at LSU I thought had a real chance if things went our way and our players embraced and worked hard. The other three I wasn’t sure and they ended up being really good and we went to the SEC Championship.
You see to be a really good team and take advantage of it you can’t believe what is being said and you can’t coast. You have to work really hard. I see this team this year having that chance and I have to say that what I’ve seen this summer that the players here have pushed the accelerator to the floor. They are putting in the work. We’ll see what happens.” [GoPokes $]
So no coasting, only working. Never, ever heard a coach say a team had a bad spring or summer but pumping expectations is what it is.
Cause for Consideration
James Washington had some encouraging comments on his coworkers position group.
“I see us being double what we were last year,” Washington said. “When you have that many good receivers, you can go anywhere you want with the ball.”
That’s why Rudolph is here – still here, after passing on the opportunity to jump to the NFL after last season.
Left, right and middle, he’s got options. And each of those options can go get the ball. And go score. [NewsOK]
Let’s wildly speculate what “double” means: production, depth, internal development? All-Americans, the other team’s final score?
