OSU Bullets
• If you’re into Xs and Os – NewsOK did a story chatting with Iowa State players giving OSU guys advice on adjusting to the new 3-3-5 defense (NewsOK)
- On an unrelated note, an Ohio State fan is upset about Jim Knowles’ performance. Earn that $2m per year, Jim.
• Viktor Hovland was the high Cowboy at the (British) Open finishing ten strokes back tied for 13th (TheOpen.com)
• Speculation abounds about conference realignment in the dog days of the college sports news cycle – but this rational take on how conferences should look by David Ubben was pretty solid.
Quick take: I’d prefer OSU be grouped with the old SWC schools than this group but the basketball (Brad Underwood matchups included) would be terrific.
The Big “Nine”
Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State
SWAC
Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M
• SMU landed a commitment from a four-star defensive back the Pokes were finalists for over the weekend (247 Sports)
• Not sure about the sources listed but pretty interesting to look at these student body sizes – 30 years from now you won’t be able to convince someone Oklahoma State regularly beat Texas (40k students) and Texas A&M (55k students):
Non-OSU Bullets
• This video of a six-year-old boy dedicating his kindergarten performance to his recently passed mother got me
• Ways to read like a Christian (faith-based)
