No Homework

With the onset of the early signing deadline, Cowboy Football is ahead of the curve on commits.

Oklahoma State is holding 16 verbal commitments as we close in on the Fourth of July and the Cowboys coaching staff has finished camps and June meetings and will be in an out on vacations and family time between now and close to the end of July just prior to the start of Fall Camp on July 30th. When Jacob Farrell committed on June 15th, the 16th commit of the class came earlier than ever before. Since the 2013 class, the 16th commit came in January, December (2x), November and August. It’ll be interesting to see how many sign on the early signing day in December.

Three Trolls

ESPN says the Pokes have one of the top-ten toughest three-game stretches in their schedule.

The Cowboys will need to be at their best to kick off the pivotal second half of the season because they face three preseason Top 25 conference foes in three weeks. The first two are on the road, too, against No. 23 Texas and No. 20 West Virginia, and then to open the month of November, the Cowboys take on in-state rival Oklahoma at home. [ESPN]

OSU comes at the end of a three-game stretch for the Longhorns, playing K-State and OU first – so lots of volatility in that Texas ranking. The nine-game league schedule leaves no room to hide in the Big 12.
