OSU Bullets

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 1): OSU Makes Four-Star DB’s Top Ten

Pokes are after another four-star from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. While much ado has been made about the package deal with his childhood friends, this talented defensive back would only be limiting his options if he doesn’t explore all avenues. The Pokes landed commitments from a pair of four-stars out of BA, Myles Slusher wouldn’t be the first.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 2): Five Thoughts on the Fix-Suriano Controversy

The wild thing I learned from this piece was that a headgear grab is a reviewable offense… but only if the offending party (referee) feels it’s necessary.

That’s like giving my attorney wife instant replay when we’re having a lively debate – sure, I’d love to highlight where I was completely wrong and have since been irrationally justifying my comments.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 3): What Mike Gundy is Looking for in a QB

Alternate heading: Gundy needs a quarterback who can get out of the way of his talented teammates. If this player can just minimize interceptions and make a couple of big throws to Tylan Wallace, he’ll find success. A QB that can not lose the game more than one who can win it.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 4): OSU Hoops has Reached Out to Grad Transfer

This to me seems like Kendall Smith kind of stuff. A point guard who has the capacity to play like an end-of-the-bench NBA player maybe every other night and the Pokes would be able to compete when he’s on.

I think you scale down that 20 point average to the mid-to-high teens adjusting for level of competition but there’s no doubt in my mind Rayjon Tucker wouldn’t come in and help this team right away.

Most Viewed of the Week (No. 5): Texas A&M Released Another Top-100 Player

While one four-star guard visits OSU this weekend, another target looms as a viable option. A shorter point guard (5’8″), Wheeler stands to make a bigger impact on the team he winds up with.

Cowgirls took one from the Horns on this clutch play last night.

• Couldn’t agree more with these thoughts on recruiting and what Cowboy Football can compete for (and why).

If the Cowboys continue to recruit how they did in 2019, and possibly improve slightly above this in some years, I believe they can compete for and win Big 12 titles on a consistent basis. My reasoning for this is that coaching and player development are huge keys, along with recruiting, in having success at the college football level. I think Gundy and company have continually shown they are capable developers, as evidenced by the players I mentioned above. [PFB]

I’m confident that if Gundy coached eight more years, five times he would finish in the top three of the Big 12, a couple of times he will have a shot at winning the league and that he’ll always qualify for a bowl.
