• ESPN’s FPI has the Pokes at No. 17 in their preseason ranking and 247 Sports explains the optimism.

Head coaches are usually wary about talking up their team before the season, but Mike Gundy is beaming with confidence. Oklahoma State has posted double-digit victories on six occasions under Gundy’s watch, but the Cowboys only have one Big 12 title to show for it. They’re hoping to change that as one of the Big 12’s best — on paper — exiting the spring.  [247 Sports]

2020 has that 2017ish feel to it with a loaded staff of veterans, save a veteran quarterback swapped for a more solid defense.

It’s hard to overstate how good OSU’s baseball uniforms are – ask Baseball America who has them at No. 2.

• One of the Big 12’s well-known referees (large biceps) is moving up and left behind a glowing story about Mike Gundy. It’s not surprising but it’s a testimony to how disciplined his team was (in 2012 or before).

• A CBS Sports piece has Chuba Hubbard as their No. 2 draft-bound running back in 2021 and points to a couple things he needs to improve this year:

Hubbard needs to strengthen his base to get through tackles and hold up in pass protection but his speed is lethal. [CBS Sports]
