Fun fact: Chuba has to average 132 yards a game to get past the 2k mark.

OSU Bullets

• While OSU isn’t making their first playoff appearance this year, it’s being noted that they’ve got a chance to shape the Playoff with their last regular-season game.

Oklahoma State (24). The trap game: Oklahoma in Stillwater on Nov. 30… They have the weapons to be a problem for a defense that has been leaking oil lately—most notably running back Chuba Hubbard (leading the nation at 178 rushing yards per game) and a couple of receivers who made big plays after the season-ending injury to Tylan Wallace in Dillon Stoner and Braydon Johnson. OSU’s offense causing problems doesn’t seem like it would be the solution to winning a game this year, but I do like the potential for some serious keep-a-way from Jalen Hurts (sort of the Kansas State-model).

• I loved this research (on PFB+) that a commenter did on most overrated/underrated teams over the last decade. OSU was the fifth most underrated and the top-five most overrated was full of underperforming bluebloods (over the time period).

• Looking over the most memorable games with Les Miles on staff at OSU, one game, in particular, resonates – beating Nebraska in 2002.

This is one Mike Gundy remembered when asked about special games with Les Miles.

“Robert, we beat Nebraska one year and I remember that we hadn’t beaten them in a long time,” Gundy said. “That ended a long streak and I think Oklahoma State fans were really happy.”

It was the first win over Nebraska since 1961, 41 years of futility with one tie. [GoPokes]

It feels futile to lose to OU eight times a decade. You could tell how bad Texas Tech fans were ready to beat OSU for the first time in over a decade. To see OSU take down mighty Nebraska was a watershed moment in the program history, a really fun one.
