Happy Thanksgiving to all. I’m glad for so many different things this year, but maybe preeminent among them is the annual reminder that this happened.

Two traveling notes before we get to the goods. We drove the fam to Oklahoma on Wednesday afternoon, and two things stood out.

• Chick-fil-A is overrated. I’m sorry, it is. I have no regrets. Hear me now, I’m not saying Chick-fil-A is bad. Chick-fil-A is, in reality, very good. But a thing can be both good and overrated at the same time. For my Dallas homies, Super Chix >>> CFA.

• There should be a universal way to display how many and what kind of humans you have in your vehicle. Example: If you’re toting around three elderly people or three kids and folks around you know, they would be more likely to allow you to cut them in traffic lines and give you spots close to stores that would help you out. This makes sense for everyone!

Unknown Senior Day

Great story here on Cole McKnight, an unknown walk-on senior who will get to stand with his family on Saturday in BPS.

McKnight isn’t scoring touchdowns or making highlight-reel plays like Ateman, James Washington or Chris Lacy. But he’ll end his career knowing that he represented both his hometown and the college football team he loves with pride and respect.

In the middle of his fifth year as an OSU student and fourth season as a player, McKnight has one more glorious game day to step onto the field at Boone Pickens Stadium. “It’s crazy. It really does fly by,” he said. “I’ll just take it in one last time, soak it in and be happy to be out there with my teammates.” [NewsOK]

Whitener’s Opportunity

Good stuff here on Chad Whitener, whose brother passed away when he was a child.

Whitener says what drives this tenacity to excel is being a stickler on “not wasting days,” capitalizing on every precious moment for refinement. That outlook was forged by the death of his older brother, Charles, who passed away at age 11 from complications due to asthma. Whitener, just a child himself at the time, witnessed it. [Tulsa World]

I really like Whitener. He might not be the best player (he’s not the best player), but he always emptied the tank and seems like a kind-hearted dude that’s pretty easy to like.

OSU And NCAA Notes

Notre Dame took down Wichita State in Hawaii despite only leading for 22 seconds … Big 10 offense STINKS … Luke Del Rio chooses not to use a sixth year of eligibilityBerry Tramel says he wants Baker Mayfield to win the Heisman (and he will … and it won’t be close) … Leslie O’Neal and Jimmie Johnson could get in the pro football HOF this year.

An email question I didn’t have then answer to: How many times has OSU beaten a non-conference Power 5 opponent in both basketball and football in the same year?

Kevin and Russell told each other they loved each other on Wednesday night. Here for it all.

I need this.

Is Lane Kiffin … self-aware?!

Steve Kerr is the best.

Mike Leach forever and ever and ever.

So good.
